The Excel Freedom Transport Chair weighs only 14.8 lbs- almost 25% lighter than standard transport chairs. The Excel Freedom Chair also features breathable nylon upholstery, an attractive burgundy aluminum frame, and comfortable, “restaurant-style” arms (so you can pull up to tables and eat comfortably). The chair not only has a fold-down back but is foldable for easy transport. The backside of the chair contains a key ring and multiple pockets for your billfold or iPod, cell phone, drinking bottle, and identification tag while there is a cup holder on the front for the passenger. Optional travel bag also available.
A standard seat size on a transport chair is 19”. We also have chairs available in smaller or larger sizes. If you are unsure of the size you need you can measure across the lap of the person that will be in the chair. Make sure to measure the widest part of the lap to insure a comfortable fit. Transport chairs are ideal for travel purposes because of their lightweight and compact folding design. Unlike a manual wheelchair a transport chair will require someone to push the user. Swing away footrests are standard with most wheelchairs. They are removable with a quick release lever, and can swing to the left or right to make it easier to stand back up.
