This lightweight chair weighs just 23.5 lbs! This is the ideal chair for loading into trunk, car or airplane and the rear handles fold down for easy storage or transportation. The powder coated aluminum frame is lightweight, durable, and is available in two exciting colors. The seat is made from durable and lightweight nylon upholstery and a seatbelt is included for safety. Black composite wheels require virtually no maintenance and incorporate dual-sealed precision bearings. Loop brakes are included for assistance stopping the chair. Padded armrests are standard. For your convenience a pocket is on the back of the chair. A seatbelt is included for safety. Available in Red and Blue.
A standard seat size on a transport chair is 19”. We also have chairs available in smaller or larger sizes. If you are unsure of the size you need you can measure across the lap of the person that will be in the chair. Make sure to measure the widest part of the lap to insure a comfortable fit. Transport chairs are ideal for travel purposes because of their lightweight and compact folding design. Unlike a manual wheelchair a transport chair will require someone to push the user. Swing away footrests are standard with most wheelchairs. They are removable with a quick release lever, and can swing to the left or right to make it easier to stand back up.
A larger rear wheel on a transport chair will make for a less bumpy ride when going over rougher obstacles like thick grass, cracked sidewalks, or gravel.
Handbrakes are a great addition on a transport chair because the person pushing the chair will be able to work the brake if going downhill or the chair starts to fill like it is getting away. You can also flip the brakes downward to lock the chair. This will make it safe for someone to get into or out of the chair.
